Hard bed topper with the Gladiator soft top?

We are looking to fit a hard bed cap on to our JTDR with the Jeep soft top.

A local ARE dealer said that he ordered an ARE CX for another customer and it did not fit because the Jeep soft top was longer at the top than the Jeep hard top. He would have needed to slide the cap about 1-1/2 inches back to avoid having the two roofs rubbing each other.

What hard tops will fit? I imagine toppers with flat front panels, like the metal SmartCap would work.

So who has the Gladiator soft top and a hard shell topper? Pics?

The Leer is made it appears to work with the soft top.... There is a bit more room between the top and the cap...

We just left a local Leer dealer. They called Leer and Leer's answer was that they don't recommend their cap for a Gladiator with a soft top. While their cap won't touch the soft top when parked, it's very close. Their concern was, at speed, that turbulence would cause the rear roof and the plastic window to flutter and rub against the cap.

The Alu-Cab Canopy works. We gave up waiting to find a used cap, so we bought the Alu-Cab new from OK4WD in New Jersey.

We narrowed it down to a metal cap, and the Alu-Cab Canopy and the RSI Smartcap was at the top of the list. (GFC had a very long delivery RLD seems to be totally unavailable.).

Ultimately we chose the Alu-Cab because of the lighter weight than the RSI and the one piece construction, but the slightly lower price didn't hurt either. And it works with the soft top.
