I'm looking at adding a retractable tonneau cover and a bed roll bar to my truck. The roll bar is mostly cosmetic, but also will allow me to add a light bar or pod lights. However, my favorite feature of my truck is removing the hard top and doors. Before I place an order for these things, does anyone here have a roll bar and still remove your hard top? How do you do it without a hoist system? Currently my wife and I pick it up from both sides and walk it across the bed when removing it, but we're not quite tall enough to lift it up and over a roll bar that way. I can think of a few possible solutions, but I'm curious to hear from anyone else who does it on a regular basis. One solution would be a soft top, but I'm not really interested in going down that road.

Yeah more of a light bar.

My rig would lift that top straight up without problem and leave it hanging in the garage above the Jeep.
I made my own top lift.

I'm going to bet you'll either want to rig up some hoist like mentioned above or use 2 ladders, lift it up over the roll bar, and then walk it off the way you have been. Or just put lights on the front bumper or cowl mounts and don't bother with it.

I'm fairly sure you'd not want to rely on this in event of a roll-over......... although this one wasn't attached just to the sides of the box, it did go all the way down to the bed above frame channels.

Close - bike hoist from Menards. Two of them. One for the rear, one for the front - cabled up with paracord and some pulleys I had one hand, going to a cheap boat winch on the wall.
Takes minutes - unbolt top, lift it up, drive away.
Back into the garage, lower top, bolt it on.
