Just gonna have slightly higher rpms. Why a downside...could you please elaborate? Aren't the 5.13's supposed to make it feel like stock if not better?

I knew it.. he did mine and sent a picture with a smiley face also.absolutely did! Darryl is amazing!
Slightly higher is no biggie. Just translates to a more lively pedal[ like driving with OD off in a ford]Just gonna have slightly higher rpms.
This is on a Rubicon with auto transmissionFYI: this data is from grimjeepers
513 gears 35” tires 75 mph-2412 rpm 8th gear
410 gears 35” tires 75 mph-1930 rpm 8 gear
513 gears 37” tires 75 mph-2282 rpm 8th gear
410 gears 35” tires 75 mph-2419 7th gear
410 gears 35” tires 75 mph- 2880 6th gear
Stock410 gears 33” tires 75 mph-2047 8th gear
Maybe help someone decide on what gear set they want
The 5.13s with 37s has me wondering? Does that math add up 35s are at 2412 and 37s att 2282?FYI: this data is from grimjeepers

I love the low end torque with the 5.13 for sure! Get off and go!I have 5:13s in a manual Rubicon with a light set of 37" tires and rims. I Love the 5:13s. The biggest reason is the added torque and power in the first 4 gears. Not only do your overdrive gears become useful again, but, the first 4 gears make the truck really move fast. The torque multiplication is really great.
PS. Before the 5:13s, the hemi and diesel would pop into my mind once in a while, now, after the 5:13s, they never enter my mind. The power and gas mileage are really nice now.
Yes. Because the smaller tires turn more times over the same distanceThe 5.13s with 37s has me wondering? Does that math add up 35s are at 2412 and 37s att 2282?
410 gear with 35's staying in 8th is tough the slightest incline and your going into 7th. With 5.13's on 35's it climbs in 8th.FYI: this data is from grimjeepers

You are correct. Any hill it moves into 7th. I am considering 5:13. This way If I go to 37’s I’ll be ready. However understand 513’s is the same RPM (8th gear)as 410’s on 35” tires in 7th gear.410 gear with 35's staying in 8th is tough the slightest incline and your going into 7th. but the engine isnt working as hard to move the tires in 8th.You are correct. Any hill it moves into 7th. I am considering 5:13. This way If I go to 37’s I’ll be ready. However understand 513’s is the same RPM (8th gear)as 410’s on 35” tires in 7th gear.
You'd definitely want to go with 5.38's with 40s. With 37s I think 5.13 are optimal in my opinion. I run 5.13 with 39s and its not enough.Might as well add 40s onto this. I don't know about rpm range specifically but most go with either 5.13 or 5.35. 5.35 if going tow from what i understand.
