Outside of watching every new YT video, watching the forum like a hawk, bothering Jeep Chat every day, saving the build sheet and window sticker URLs with your VIN as a favorite and checking a few times a day…. What other healthy coping mechanisms have you developed for waiting on your JT?

Seriously though, I need ideas to pass the next “10 to 12 weeks”.
Squat, deadlift, bench, repeat....

That looks awesome. We never had the money for legos growing up, so hopefully I can get a son so I can buy myself all the toys I would have wanted :D
In the immortal words of Tom Robbins, "It's never too late to have a happy childhood." :like:

nothing like stepping on a pile of legos in the middle of the night. I'd rather drink fire!! HAHAHAHA. Lego's are expensive AF!! You'll never be able to add another MOD if you start buying LEGOS, LOL. Our next box is going to be the Millennium Falcon!! Just need to pull the trigger on the $150 one. Or maybe a bed liner. I am not sure yet.
They do let you know when they get underfoot.

In reality, or more appropriately perspective, LEGO isn't too bad a price especially for what you get. They have hovered around $0.10 a piece since the 70s, and with bucket sets (common elements) they run around $0.03 to $0.05 each. The ones that get pricey are the franchise sets (Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, DC, etc.) at upwards of $0.15 per piece. Additionally, they tend to make larger sets with a higher piece count (Ultimate Collector Series, lookin' at you Mr. bigass Millennium Falcon at a ridiculously prohibitive $800) to artificially offset that market niche lower volume sales. They're a good value, but even that's stupid expensive IMO. Knowing where to get pieces in bulk helps, there is a site called Bricklink that connects you to sellers planet-wide. LEGO now owns that site but they have used it for decades to determine market value for LEGO User Group bulk orders which average about $0.01 to $0.02 per piece.

The other end of their seeming expensive is/was the buying power of Toys-R-Us. Geoffrey Giraffe made LEGO its bitch being their highest volume foothold. I worked there in the mid 90s and saw a set I wanted bad. Took it in back, beat the shit out of the box, had it marked down as "damaged", and threw it in the clearance aisle. Policy was that after a full day there, any item could then be purchased by staff and marked down to just above cost. Original retail was $89.99, I got it for $19.00 and TRU still made money. LEGO took too long to build The LEGO Stores to bring a more realistic price to the competition, and now it's adjusted for normal inflation and costs.

Sorry for derailing the thread, I'm just very encouraging when it comes to breaking out the bricks. Cheers!

P.S.

You and my youngest son. He was a Lego master years ago.
I'll bet a UCS Millennium Falcon that he still is. ;)

Dunno, will probably never know.
He was last seen in this country in 2012 although somehow my other son got pics of his brother's wife and daughter in recent months so I at least know he's alive, married, with daughter.
He has to be creative as hell and intelligent enough to outwit who he's outwitted.

That sounds like an interesting project. Care to share some details?

Bought it 2 years ago in Colorado. it's a 38 foot Blue Bird AARE with an 8.3 Cummins. Painted it, ripped out the seats and completely gutted it. It's still being finished out inside but i have dual roof AC units, a 3500w generator and a full plumbing system (100 gallon fresh, 75 grey and 45 black).

It's mostly going to be a weekend rig but the plan is to add a trailer hitch and flat tow the JT behind it like the Class A folks do.

Thanks for sharing, I’m going to live through you lol

Projects like these make me excited to finally buy a home with either a shop or room to build a shop.

This is exactly what I did! My parents, I guess, thought lego was a boys toy or something, so I never had any. But I always wanted some and now I get to play with my son‘s, and as a bonus my husband buys my son complicated lego sets, because he knows how badly I am hoping that my son will come to me for help putting it together, lol.

And as for dealing with your JT wait time…I highly recommend going to the Bronco forum and nosing around. Seeing people waiting for months and months, or possibly even a couple years, really puts the 10-12 weeks for a gladiator into good perspective, lmao.

Not to brag... but I think my obsession has made me physically ill in terms of fatigue to the point I've given myself migraines.. big time energy.

It would be easier if I worked on something that kept me away from electronics all day, but I have access all day, 24/7 and I can't help but check.

for me i just started working hella hours at work i was pulling of about 80hrs saving up money for jeep parts and racked enough for me and my dad to relax for the next 3 weeks to enjoy the new ecodiesel :)

finally got my vks fab rock sliders on the truck........Tribe 16 welded them on,i saw they did great work from what ive seen but what the hell man......the welds were comparable to factory welds but a bit worse, some spots were good and some just said dont Effing look at me and they missed some spots were they forgot to paint :( , i got the welding skills but not the welder since 1 my machine and tools got stolen 2. i dont got my welding job since it was temporary and i dont know a friend with one
But hey.......it was only 390 bucks or so.......im still kinda bummed but hey its better than drilling and using some bolts and relying on that to take abuse offroad

Damn i got kinda offtopic lol
