For $75 grand I don’t want “a Jeep thing,” Thank you very much.

Well, it is how it is. It is well documented ... And it is stupid ... If you want to read thousands of posts, head over to the jeep wrangler forum where it is talked about profusely ...

But, if you "Don't want a jeep thing for 75 grand", and warm air every 2 hours is too much for you to handle, it seems like your only recourse would be to:

1) Sell the jeep and get any other vehicle without this insanely stupid "feature"
2) Find the actuator that opens the valve and put a switch on it so you can disable and re-enable it at will.

But be assured, Jeep does not consider this a problem and will do exactly ZERO to help you ... And there is no forum answer that you will consider reasonable as there is simply no good answer ... This is controlled by a computer program ... And it aint getting changed ...

It's so funny when obvious non-engineers call anything stupid or hate it and say it's not necessary when car companies spend a ton of money paying engineers to spend hours, weeks, months, doing research and figuring things out. Arm chair engineers are amazing - it's not about science, it's about "I don't like this".
If you want things freezing up - disable it. If you want it to not be able to temper the cold air coming in, close off the flow valve for coolant and/or wire the door shut down there.
It's annoying for a few seconds - on the other hand, I've worked on cars where the evap froze over because someone bypassed a thermostat, then the complained it didn't keep them cold and couldn't understand because they locked the compressor on it should be getting REALLY cold.
AMC had a "desert only" setting that did just that and in Iowa when it hit 110 degrees people would use that setting then come in and complain it didn't cool them after half an hour or so. You could see the water puddle under the car after a few minutes. OF course then it worked fine - for another 30-40 minutes. (dew points about 10-5 degrees below actual temp, you will freeze an evaporator really fast.)

Theoretically, ours should have come with the fix. Never had it on my 2018 JLU Sahara (delivered September 2018–sold May 2021), but have it on my wife’s 2018 Sahara (delivered April 2018). I do have the issue in my 2021 JTRD.

The question really becomes..if it’s only 30-45 secs, can you just put up with it if it is preventing problems? The answer is yes. But, why the hell don’t I have the same mechanism on my 1999 Land Cruiser, or my 1987 and 1992 Mercedes, which never have this aggravating feature?

It's not a defect. There's clear engineering reasons behind it. It's simply something that some people don't like, some ignore or don't give a rip, and people like me who have worked in the field for decades understand that there's some reasoning behind it and I'd rather be annoyed every few weeks once or twice than mess with it. Life's too short...............

I'm mearly saying that they won't.

Should or shouldn't is irellevant.

Spend some time on it other than complaining on this forum if you need convincing.

If you get anywhere, you will be a hero and we will tell stories about you to our grandchildren.

Jeep does not consider it to be a defect. For some reason, it was designed into the system. Why would they change it?
