I have been getting a whining noise from the front end. Sounds like gears whining and is most prevalent when i.take my foot off the gas above 40mph. Had it in the shop and still at a loss. They removed the front drive shaft and still had the whining.

They said it could be the transfer case but it seems to be coming from the front and not sure to diagnose the transfer case.

I have been researching the wheel bearings to see if that could be it. Running 37x13.5x17s, Clayton 3.5 overland, black rhino abrahms -18 offset, so the wheels pole out.

I recently started getting some minor death wobble and went through everything to check torque, needed some adjustments that helped. Had a full allotment done and now dialed everything in to get a much better ride and just had the nrw stearing gear done under the tsb.

The shop said the bearings were ok and ball joints wee good. It seems like the noise is coming from the passenger side not the gears but noises can travel.

My first thought was it started after getting new Yukon gears but don't know for sure because I was running milestar tires and they were louder than the whining lol. When i.changed to nittos it was easier to hear.

Looking for ideas and best way to confirm the bearings are good.

Gearing was the first thing that came to mind. When I got to the end of your post, it looks like you suspect it as well. That would be my first place to look. Take it to whoever did the gear swap. They should know and might be willing to work with you.

Just checking off the obvious...have you checked the oil level in the diff(s). Was the right oil used after the re-gear?

They did check it and ruled out the front. They thought the back was causing the whine and pulled the. Iverson and the back bearing was going bad. They reaced that bearing but still getting the whine. That's why the pulled the front drive shaft and still got the noise. They don't do transfer cases so if that is the issue, need to get the dealer to look at it ...only 29k on it.
