The problem with that is that if ESS isn't working, there COULD still be an underlying problem you aren't aware of, that will rise up and bite you later.Yeah I know. Got robbed. So new sensor. New aux battery. Start stop didn’t work still when I left the dealership.
I hate the start stop so I guess as long as it’s not draining either battery I’ll just leave it. It working.
You don't KNOW the batteries are not having issues, you don't know the main battery doesn't have a problem. There are almost 3 dozen things that can cause ESS to not work - some are things that can be expensive later if not addressed.
I use ESS as a troubleshooting thing - if it's not working, I want to know why - so I can fix the why, ESS wanted or not.
You need to start checking things over - battery voltage when the thing is sitting, not running, monitor the voltage when you drive it, among other things. You could find yourself stuck in a parking lot unable to start it some day.
