Update!
So, with the modem out, I lost all satellite comms, thus no NAV...
So, I put it back and removed the black and the grey micro coax wires that go between the modem and the main board, and now I have NAV back, BUT, if I am directly under a tower, and I mean literally under a tower, I still get a couple of bars, so I tried to do a "service call", and search in the the NAV system, both failed, so I'm thinking it is not capable of transmitting data, but not absolutely sure. If someone knows of a method to measure actual signal outside of the Jeep, and maybe data transfer, that would be cool.
I would try the hotspot, but I don't want to pay for a subscription, just to do a one time check.
Can't say for sure about the SiriusXM, as I HAD some stations during all this, and they stopped, says I'm not subscribed, but I bought the Jeep used, and it was active, so it might be a coincidence that the subscription ran out.
So I followed this method today, and I can confirm this works on my '23 with the 8.4" radio, but like you - I did lose SiriusXM as a result. Is it possible only one of the antenna wires needs to be removed?
