yeah I think that is going to have to be my plan. I don't think you can place a factory order on a 21 anymore so I might have to fix my wrangler in the mean time and wait for them to open up the orders
but i was talking to a salesperson and they said when the 22s become available for order they will only have the basic colors like black, white, etc. which means I may have to wait even longer.

It is absolutely worth the wait if you have a functioning vehicle that you can keep driving for roughly 2 more months.

You may not be able to order every color right away but they could still announce what they'll be.

Personally I would reach out to the dealership mentioned above (Lakeland?) and see if they're willing to cut you a deal on ordering a 2022 once we know more about them. 6% under invoice is a great deal. Even if they only give you invoice + incentives that's still probably better than your average "local" dealer.

I'm not getting anything in the link. It asked me to enter a zip code so it may be specific to something you entered.

I think you would be good with one similar to the window sticker you posted earlier, but getting the price down is pretty dealer specific. Some will not budge and even add on to the sticker price.

At the end of the day there's nothing wrong with paying what you feel comfortable paying - whether that's above MSRP or under invoice. FWIW I bought my gladiator without doing a ton of research. I read this forum for about a week, but that wasn't really enough to realize the sort of deals I could have had. But that being said, I still got mine roughly ~10% under MSRP (not sure how much under invoice, it's a Sport S with few options) and I'm still very happy with it. <2 hr drive to pick it up. If I had to buy a new one though, I'd order from Gupton and convince my family to make a mini vacation out of it.

Patience, if you can afford it, will pay off here.

Somtimes you need to deal with a specific salesman to get that price, the others are not doing volume but rather commission based on sale price.

I am also in Florida and ordered from Gupton, but after I saw a member here that works in Lakeland Crysler that is offering 6% below invoice. Pretty good deal and you don’t have to leave Florida.
who did you speak to?

If you can hold out don't buy off the lot… order it with exactly what you want… i bought mine not too long after they came out and markups were through the roof kind of like they are now and i would have had to pay over off the lot but got a really nice discount by ordering… from what i understand and i could have misunderstood but dealers can only order a certain number for their lot and that number is determined by sales history so the dealer wants to sell you a car even if they only make a little bit off of it they just aren’t going to take any less then what they can get out of their limited lot orders but when you order a car it does not go against that number and they are more willing to give a discount.

this makes sense so factory orders are going to be much cheaper than buying off the lot pretty much at any dealer. So I don't have to order from another state like with gupton if i wait to factory order and i still get a deal ?

Yes, you have more bargaining power because you can oder from any dealership to get the truck you want… as an example i looked for 2 months and couldnt get what i wanted for less than 46 but i ordered it fir 39

I have over $3500 I need on my current JK needs lifters, I have a leak in the housing, an 02 sensor, and my starter is starting to go. I wonder if I should have it fixed or just wait for the 22s to come in and trade it in. What makes more sense to you. Will they knock off the price of my JK with all the work it needs does it pay to even have it fixed?

Yeah that sucks, I hate it when the sales people are jerks. If they took your information, don't hold back if/when they ask later why you haven't bought anything yet. The first dealer I sat down with in person did the same thing when I asked them to go lower than the sticker. I walked out laughing myself when he tried to show me a used Ranger.

When I was looking I called & emailed a pretty big dealer in a neighboring state. They also laughed at me, and I wasn't asking for anything out of hand (I didn't even know about invoice vs. MSRP pricing). Weeks later they kept emailing. I eventually got in a back & forth with the owner, at least the email said it was the owner. It was weird they would spend so much effort trying to get my attention but wouldn't even begin to negotiate the price.

In the meantime I found a dealer closer by who was very nice and friendly and willing to sell me what I wanted for under MSRP (they had "employee pricing" at the time and that's what they were offering me - later on I realized that is standard for everyone and you should negotiate the price independent of those type of incentives). I was excited and planned on driving up that weekend to get it. I called on Friday and it was already sold.

So I go back to my list of dealerships and find another one just like it. They offer "internet pricing" which seemed like a gimmick but when I started emailing back and forth they weren't playing around and willing to sell it for what it was advertised at. This is the ~10% off MSRP I referenced. IIRC the sticker was ~$42,100 and I paid $37,900. I was happy because it was what I wanted, I got it right then, and I didn't yet know about the handful of dealers who would sell you a new order anywhere from 6-8% under invoice, which is a significantly better deal. So much better that I would recommend anyone who can take advantage of that instead of buying off the lot.

The problem that I'm sure you're now aware of is timing. You can't order a new one right now. So you spend time and effort hunting the lots for limited inventory - and try to deal with sales people who aren't willing to deal - or you can wait a few weeks to order a new one, and then you have another couple months to figure out how you're going to pick it up. It's a 12 hr drive from S. Florida to Gupton, not something you really want to do in one go.

I know it sounds like a paid testimony but I didn't buy from them. I have however read through the 80+ pages of people who have and 99% have nothing but good things to say.

As for the JK, I would repair what you need to keep it running for another 3 months. I would also look into selling it to one of the internet companies (Carvana, Vroom, etc) since they will be a lot less picky about potential problems. If it turns on and has no dash lights blinking they're good in my experience.
