I‘ve had a High Altitude diesel in granite crystal for about two months now. Love it but need something better in the tires department when winter comes or when I decide to take this thing off-road. The factory Dueller H/T’s on 20” rims are nice on the road but are gonna suck in the snow.

I’ve got Baseline 4x4 Outfitters fairly local to me and Tony said he’d hook me up with a set of Rubicon wheels and BFG TKO2’s from a JKU. They’ve only got 2700 miles on them so I think as long as they will work I’m going to jump on them. Any reason they won’t work? Will I have to mess with the speedometer calibration? These have the TPMS in them. I’m assuming they’ll sync up to my Jeep fine? I’d probably just put them on in the fall and pull them off in the spring unless I really like the look…..

Also, if anybody has pictures of High Altitudes with Ruby wheels I’d love to see them.

If the JKU tires are 255/75R17 then it's appx 32" to your appx 32" so no problems.

So I made a deal today for a set of 2020 Jeep JKU Rubicon 17” wheels with BFG TKO2’s and TPMS. Have 2700 miles on them. I’ll be swapping them on for winter as well as off-road adventures. Keeping the 20” high altitude wheels and Dueler HT’s for summer highway use. I’m stoked. I should have them by the end of the month.

Did this work out for you. I was thinking of doing the same. I have a 2021 HA and I would like to find some 33 Rubicon tires. Seems like many rubicon owners take them off and sell them.

Yes it did. Worked out great! Ended up with a set that had about 20k miles on them. TPMS synced right up and no issues with rubbing or anything else. Ended up buying all five and swapped out the spare as well. I’m planning on switching back to the HA wheels and tires in April or so.

I live in Buffalo, NY so know about driving in the snow. I purchased a set of four Blizzak DM-V2 SL with TPMS and 17x8.5 wheel. The tires are 265/70R17. I got all from Tire Rack. These tires are the standard size on the Overland model. I drive a 3.6 Gladiator 2021 Rubicon. You want as narrow a tire as possible for true winter time driving. I drove them for about a month last year before our winter ender and no snow yet this year. No issues and everything i was expecting from them. Blizzak tires are some of the best dedicated snow tires on the market. I would put them up against any competition. The good part is they are also about 5 pounds less per tire so a gain in MPG also comes along. The ride on dry pavement is no different than the stock A/T Rubicon tires so you would never know you are are a dedicated snow tires.

Just put on 4 20 high altitude take offs on my Willy’s today. Showing nothing for the tire pressure sensors. You mention yours worked fine. Did it take a while for them to work ? Thanks

Gotta drive it for it to sync. Also you sure the take offs had tpms? Some people keep their sensors when they sell the rims.

What is the build date of your gladiator? They changed the sensors in June 2021, and later builds don't accept the older sensors, and vice versa.

Want to pull the trigger on a new Gladiator diesel. Like the look and nicer interior of the High Altitude. I'll be mostly all road driving this, so hardcore stuff not important. So far, are you happy with your choice over another model?

I love the HA diesel. The options and interior is awesome. Ride isn't too bad either. I'm just shy of 10k miles now and it just goes. We've had the Rubicon wheels and tires on since November and they are awesome in the snow. They are louder and bouncier than the stock HA wheels/tires. I'll be switching back after our Jeep Adventure Academy outing in May and of course switch back for winter. Really does make a nice setup. We also picked up a bestop sunrider and I'm looking forward to trying that out in the spring. Jeeps really are never ending money pits!.....

Mine synched up by the time I moved the truck out of the tire shop to the street out front, 30 feet away. When I had new tires put on my Overland rims, it was all working by the time I left the dealer's parking lot.
When the tires are rotated (5 tire rotation) they are all registering fine before I hit the street.
Some systems must just have troubles......... of course now they've changed part numbers and old won't work with new......
