Guys I have picked up my Gladiator Rubicon and I am lining up my ducks on parts and accessories.

A query that maybe you blokes could help me with is availability of after market wiring harnesses to facilitate operation of driving lights, both turning on and turning them off when you dip your headlights from high beam to low beam. I.E. turns the driving lights off when you dip from high beam to low beam.

Does anyone know who may sell these?

I don’t know a seller, but putting a small control relay in the fog light circuit would allow other lights to dip off when on low beam…..Jack

I may be wrong but are not driving lights focused for long distance roadway illumination and not close up, wide angle like the main lighting? I had halogen driving lights on my MG's and Volvo and they were great back when the roads were dark and sealed beams were the norm but never a problem to oncomming traffic on country roads. Hardly ever used high beam while using the Drivers. Useless around town. Would be nice to have human control rather than Miss Nanny AI.

It's really not difficult to control any auxiliary light combination based on if you're running your high beams or low beams. As far as wiring, it's a separate wire going to your headlights for highs so it's easy to make a basic circuit with relays to trigger what you want.

In my case, I wanted my Baja Designs LP6 "low beams" to come on with the vehicle high beams. The lows turn on just 2 of the 6 LEDs in the lights and it's just the floods. Provides great close up illumination when the highs go on which project way out. I designed a simple circuit that you might be able to use. You can easily reverse the logic to turn something off instead of on with it. But I also wanted to manually control the lights to be off or on independent of whether or not high/lows were in use so I needed several relays to do it.

KHAm beautiful work.

I did simplify my question to not over complicate and confuse the members as I am a industrial Electrical Fitter.

Here in Australia, strictly by the law it is illegal to have driving lights / LED Bars work independently switched. That is, they can only come on when the vehicles headlights are on High beam and subsequently turn off when you dip your headlamps with no second action required by the driver.

Yet I get what many find that by running the Drivers when on Low Beam. That was how I ran my Baja Designs on my last vehicle.

I have a question for you but Ill post on your thread.

For those wondering I am intending to run two of the new Diode Dynamics SS5s in Yellow.

Thanks
