Random question about the Launch Edition emblem

One of my buddies from work has a red Launch Edition Gladiator and was asking me if I knew why some of the badges have the “one of 4190” in the top right and some don’t. I couldn’t really answer that, so I looked the 2020 ornaments up on mopar parts and the part number 68467213AA shows the “one of 4190”, but after searching the part number on google I’m finding the same part number brings up a mix of both variations.

Could somebody tell me why this is the case?

Offering my WAG. Perhaps a survivor of the train wreck mentioned by Mr. Bill. Did he buy it new? If not perhaps previous owner added.

I think they actually built more than 4190 LE Gladiators and what @Mr._Bill said about the train crash plays into it.

All pre-order slots were supposedly sold within days or hours at launch in April 2019. Eventually then it became available for sale in Australia and eventually they started showing up on dealers lots with no names assigned to the window sticker like a customer order normally would implying dealers were able to order them for on lot stock when it was suppose to be a customer order only thing.

Would not surprise me if they dropped the "one of 4190" on the badging because that was no longer applicable.

I feel for anybody that is keeping one low mileage or even mothballed one thinking it would be a collectors item way down the road as it has to be one of the worst launches of a special edition model with questionable provenance to show it is truly one of a kind.

It's also possible that line was only included on the first run of 4190 badges. It could have been left off the additional runs due to cost, or any of the other reasons mentioned.
