Hoping someone might be able to help. I live in a gated community that has a shared front gate.

The front gate is a non-rolling code style opener, I've followed the instructions in the manual 5-6 times on programming this style of opener but the Homelink buttons in the visor refuse to learn.

The steps in the manual are very simple. With a fresh battery, and once the memory is cleared, press and hold the button on the remote & button on the Visor until it flashes (20 seconds +)

Are there any tips or trips?

Side note - My Home garage door opener syncs easily.

If I remember correctly... once it is programmed the light will be solid when you press the button. ( for non rolling codes) Mine has both my garage opener ( rolling ) and a entry gate ( non-rolling ) It did take multiple tries to finally get it to work.

Thanks for the reply, for the entry gate ( non-rolling ), were you able to identify what eventually make it work? Did you have to wipe all 3 buttons before every attempt?

Thanks

It took me forever to get mine to work. The HomeLink instructions suck. I found that my opener instruction manual (Genie) has instructions to program HomeLink. That's what worked for me.

I had wiped all 3 to program the garage. I programmed the gate at a later time, but the 3rd button had never been programmed before. I did wipe just the 3rd button ( the one I used for the gate ). It has been a while....I believe you hold the one button until it flashes to clear just it. I am not sure what got it to work. I just cleared the button and tried again until it finally worked. Once it accepts the program the light will stay solid when you press that button.
