My wife is one good reason I was able to retire at 60 and am in the financial condition I'm in. Yes, she has 'champaign tastes on a beer budget', but she was smart with money over the years.Married unfortunately

That's good for you.
Now for me , I come home and find her watching "Why Women Kill" " Midsommer Murders" "FBI Files" "New Detectives" etc.. never thought a whole bunch about it .
Thought she had a crime show fascination.
Finally I said "why do you watch that stuff all the time".
??
To which she answered back in a sober and calm tone.
"So when I kill you I will know how to get away with it.."
I dont ask any more and everything that can harm me except the kitchen knives has been put out of her ability to get to and as added precaution I dont each anything she cooks that has mushrooms in it .

To clarify/explain - people with the severe conditions I have are 40% more likely to die in traffic accidents because of the intense "need for speed, get the hell out of my way" and 1..5 to 2 times more like to die in suicides. A normal day is killer and extremely difficult to get through and totally exhausting - not kidding. Hectic days are great, easy, even.
She's also pulled me through health issues and is concerned - watching over me, insisting I go to doctors even when I don't want to and insisting doctors "DO SOMETHING" when I went through the year of hell last spring and summer. She was all over them even when I couldn't speak for myself.
She's literally a life-saver, a real keeper. VERY contrary at times, and very strong-willed, stubborn, but that's ok. (I suspect that's the German in her)
Don't underestimate the value of a good life-partner. Took me a couple of times...... but that's another issue common to people like me - many failed marriages. So I'm lucky - unless I get REALLY STUPID, I'm stuck with her..
