I had the same issue a year ago. I bought two new switches, but haven’t installed them. Removing those o rings allows the two switches to move freely. It’s just a crap design in my opinion. It’s been perfect for a year or more. Not a single hiccup.
Good to know...I am also having a check engine light as well. Dealership did some work/tests...(not fixed)but I am taking it to my mechanic that had done my regearing and lockers about 3 years ago. We haven't done any upgrades lately to think it was what we might have done.

I kinda feel like it has slower throttle response. Less gitty up and go than before....even though it's a jeep I have a lead foot

I doubt that’s related to the hood switch. Certainly not caused by it. Sounds like more is going on. I’m sure your mechanic will figure it out.

The first code is an exhaust cam phaser issue - exhaust cam out of time or range.
The next is a CANbus communication with BCM issue.

Could be more than one issue - check the star connector area behind the glove box, reset/reseat all of those connections.

From dealership….$2 k to fix….but was hoping that maybe it was something simpler…..

Camshaft Actuator: after inspecting the grounds on the back of the block i found no issue with them. after that i reassembled the intake manifold i then switched the camshaft phasers to the opposite sides to see if the code would follow. once switched i took it on a test drive and found that the same code came back. no check engine light but the stop start function would still not work. this is the only engine code the vehicle has at this time. with this information i can determine that the exhaust phaser/ oil control valve on the passenger side exhaust camshaft has developed a fault. to correct this i suggest we replace the exhaust variable timing solenoid, exhaust phaser, and oil control valve for the exhaust camshaft.

I forgot but you likely know, that code was for bank 1 exhaust.

According to Google's AI -
Faulty VVT solenoid valve: The solenoid valve may be stuck open or closed, preventing the correct flow of oil to the actuator.

Wiring issues: There could be an open or short circuit in the wiring to the solenoid valve.

Faulty camshaft position sensor: The sensor might not be accurately measuring the camshaft position, leading to incorrect VVT adjustments.

Oil issues: Low oil level or contaminated oil can also affect the VVT system.

I hate to even bring oil up on internet forums - but it can be a thing - they do get gunked up, and using oil that's "too heavy" - or going too far between changes, can cause cam VVT and VVL issues.

Again, the other stuff is more BCM communication issues (you don't have Tazer, do you?) - meaning could be connectivity issues somewhere.

I do have a tazer… I have been relearning
…rebooting …doing sleep cycles for the last week to see if anything that has been done has fixed it.
