Happened to me when i was backing down a boat ramp. I opened the door to look to make sure I was not hitting the ramp curb.. It went right into park and I was stuck halfway down the ramp.

Sometimes I have a real need to back up with the door open.

Is there any way to shut this off?
Like was stated previously, get a short seat belt extender and leave it attached all the time. You'll get used to it and it fixes the problem entirely. Works for me.

Also makes buckling the seat belt around my gut easier.
We paid lots of hard earned money for our vehicle and with that said we should be able to operate it the way we want or need to. Just because some idiot didn't know how to open a door and back up at the same time and got hurt doesn't mean everyone else should be regulated by these stupid libtard safety features that nobody wants and have to buy extra shit to use to defeat them. Frankly, I'm getting tired of liberals telling me that I have to protect myself from myself.
