Ok, i have the two connectors off the security module. So i plug those into the bypass
harness, pic 1. Then leave the other end, pic 2, open w either the Z module plugged in, pic 3/4, or let hang and use an OBD adapter, pic 4, to put in various OBD devices. Is that right? I dont plug anything back into the security module

The black on black Extension harnes goes into the original module to save your fingers later on... Plug the tazer into the cables you pulled out of the security module. Idk what that red obd cable is for.

When you unmarry, the factory cable, plugs into the extension, further saving your knuckles.

Tazer doesn't need that orange bypass cable. The tazer device IS a bypass in itself. That Y cable is only for those of us without tazer.

He only needs the extension cables, not the thick, heavy bypass with the big OBD end on it.

Glad to help.

Disclosure - I learned this about 3 years ago from others.........

The big cable is security bypass cable necessary if you use a Bluetooth or WiFi OBD adapter with an app on phone or tablet.

Thanks for the clarification, i had that OBD cable on because i have JScan too. So when the tazer is removed the extension can just hang there?
And while we are on this subject, after fiddling w the tazer yesterday, my remote start has stopped working. I turned off the auto stop/start, you think that has something to do w it?

Unless you fiddled with something physically, turning off the ESS won't do that. It actually doesn't change anything on the Jeep side of things, the Tazer just remembers what the last setting was and sets it to that after startup. Since it happens after startup, it won't interfere with anything.

Your problem would be elsewhere.
