Online wheel and tire purchases?

I’m getting ready to replace my stock tires and I’ve been considering getting new wheels while i’m at it.

Had anybody bought wheels and tires from Trailbuilt or custom offsets?

Did you order online from some where else?

Any feedback is appreciated.

Not for my jeep but I did order mounted wheels and tires for a previous honda accord I had through tire rack. No issues. The only issues I've heard from previous forum posters is that the wheel weights may fall off during shipment. To me, that's not really a big deal.

I ordered a tire/wheel package from TrailBuilt Offroad. May 2022. A spare tire and another. 6 tires, 4wheels, etc. Was sold the incorrect TPMS, so I swapped them with OEM Mopar and TrailBuilt compensated me for the sensors/work. Was told to keep the ones I paid for and was hoping to use them in another vehicle. They did not work. No money lost. November 2022 I then bought 5 more tires from them.

I will also add, that prior I had actually gone to their facility in Appleton, WI., but apparently YouTube made them too “famous.” I called from outside the door and was told not open to the public. Someone kept in immediate contact with me, super friendly, and we made said initial purchase happen then.

I’ve bought from custom offsets twice, they do a great job. First time was actually the set I’m retiring from my Jeep now, came on a pallet, good to go, copy of the balance report also.

Second set was for my challenger, which came individually shipped via FedEx, a center cap (in the bag they were not individually wrapped) was scratched up which they immediately replaced. I’d happily use them again, if I couldn’t source a wheel from discount tire (I frequent my local DT shop) which in both of these cases, they couldn’t get the wheel I wanted which were not the typical stocked ones.

Worth noting that DT will match and can check and order for you incase it’s not on their site. When I buy from my local DT i just call them up and give them skus, go in and mount when they come in and done. Twice prior though they have called their wheel supplier and got for me what I wanted, without any issues. So if you don’t want to wait, might be worth going that route, otherwise no issue with custom offsets

Something to consider since you asked about online, here was my process: new wheels from eBay then had my local Discount mount them to new BFG's...

I had 5 mounted and road force balanced from Tire Rack, easy and no issues.

The biggest issues with online mounted wheels and tires seems to be incorrect TPMS and out of balance when you receive them.

Even though they werent on your list I bought from Wheel Hero and was really disappointed. If Discount Tire had my wheels available, I think I would have paid the little extra money and went with local just for that peace of mind. They sent me some shit lugnuts that coating came off right away and put grey valves on black and blue wheels. Really no recourse to correct the mistake with it all being online.

Tires from TireRack, wheels from @Northridge4x4, local shop did the mount and balance which made it easy to tweak when the balance needed some work. Perfect system.

I used wheelsforless.com for wheels. Good selection and price, quick shipping.
Used discount tire for tires, GREAT prices and service. Got them mounted and balanced at my local shop.

Just make sure you check your local shops before buying online. I went in to my local Big O with my Tire Rack order because they were listed as a recommended installer, and they were able to get me the same tires and wheels for $300 less than Tire Rack, and got them the next day on their truck.
