I keep seeing ads for exoforma black trim dressing. Been wanting to try some. Looks messy to apply but good idea.

The Cerakote Trim coating that was mentioned works well. The $33 trim piece would be another option. Whatever you do, avoid using a heat gun that you’ll see in many YouTube videos/shorts etc. It ends up doing more harm than good and doesn’t last at all.

The best option to avoid ever dealing with it again is to get a paint matched piece from Distinction Applied. IMO, something like this would be well worth the money and I plan on buying one when mine fades. I’m also going to do the tailgate handle and door handles.

If you start using a product like Aerospace 303 when new, which provides UV protection, the plastic won't deteriorate like that.

You cant tell how bad it has faded in the picture, but it's pretty bad. Any products you know that will help?

Are you prepping for an auto show?
It's called patina, like pinstripes.
