I’ve got the black hardtop with the removable panels. I’ve got quite a bit of wind noise and it seems that each time I adjust the panels I still get my driver side higher and not flush.

I wasn’t paying much attention when I picked up the Jeep since I was excited after waiting so long from order, but I feel I would have noticed if they weren’t flush. Pictures I find show them pretty flush at least. What am I missing?

Mine fit fine but I would go back to the dealership and voice the concern...they can remove look it over and see if it needs adjustments or if it is a more serious problem, rectify it..

Dealer can be a pain around here and the dealer I bought it from is hours away. I’ll tinker some more first. Just wanted to see if this seemed normal.

I feel like an idiot because it’s such a straightforward thing. I’ll try installing both panels before I start latching it all down maybe.

Make sure the 2 bolt holding down the main roof are tight (you can see them when the freedom panels are off). Then passenger freedom panel goes on first - make sure the white extrusion on the front near the rear view mirror, goes into the housing for it.
I can see how you can put them on incorrectly - all three locks should turn easily.

Everything goes together and locks down easily. No issues and the alignment pins do their job. I’ll take a look at the hardtop screws you mentioned are correct. I haven’t had the hardtop off, but that makes sense. Thanks!

Both screws were in fact loose, but doesn’t look to have fixed the problem after tightening.

I noticed that the driver’s side alignment hole at the windshield is slightly closer to the windshield than that of the passenger’s side. There’s plenty room for adjustment, but it doesn’t seem to allow the driver’s side down at all. Alignment is fine at the rear where it meets the hardtop; the panel is just lifted at the front.

As an aside, why are dealership service departments open on Saturdays without any techs? I called the three closest dealers to me that all say the service department is open today but closed on Sundays. Each of them said they had no techs on site until Monday :whatsgoingon:

Are you taking the drive side out first and putting in in last?

Yeppers.

I’m almost convinced that the passenger side, while flush, is preventing the driver side from coming down all the way. The rear of the driver panel is the correct height; it’s just where it meets the windshield. The latches for the driver side are much more difficult to turn into the locked position than the passenger.

The weather stripping is too thick or something? I’m able to apply pressure to the exterior and make it flush with some effort, but it jumps right back to how the pictures show. Tried adjusting the latching point (the piece that’s fastened behind the visor I pictured) but wasn’t able to really achieve any results short of misaligning the panel front to back.

Something is wrong there, mine fit flush and both sides match, no gaps.
Cheers

My service dept is open Saturday with just a skeleton crew. They do make appointments for weekdays.

Big piece in the back and two smaller pieces up front.
