Just swapped the stock JT Rubi wheels and tires with my wife’s stock JLU. Those 33” were a bear To get on. Can’t wait to see how hard it will be to put on the new 35” wheels and tires on my JT when they arrive Wednesday. Might need a bigger jack.

For all you out there that say the ride, power, gas mileage and handling with bigger tires is negligible, I’m calling BULL. No way. It’s Got to affect it.
it does. i put 33 KO2s on my JL and i lost at least 3 mpg......

I moved from the stock HT to an A/T tire and could see the difference. Even the dealer that installed the tires said I was going to lose some mpg - and I did. Hard to tell exactly but I'd say between 1 and 2 based on several tanks of fuel now.

Yeah, I‘ve got the 35 KO2 on now and after about 100miles lost 2.5mpg. Haven’t calibrated yet. loving the new stance.

That said, I didn‘t mean to make this a MPG loss thread. More to point out that there is an overall difference When you step up in tire size. many people claim different.

So here’s my 1,941mile update. Fuel mileage has improved. I suspect the diesel is breaking in. I think the most notable change is the breaking. The truck definely has a harder time slowing those bigger tires and wheels. Handling is marginally more sloppy. One big benefit is how well the truck tracks in a straight line now. Much better than on the stocks. Also much better than my old JT and my wife’s JL. Overall the more miles, the more smiles. Glad I did it.

So, my personal final verdIct? You guys were right. There was only a slight noticeable difference in going bigger But the overall experience makes it worth it.

PSA- if you are thinking about stepping up your Rubi to 35s, do it. You won’t regret It.
