Just took my front doors off for the first time. Not sure if and when ill do the back. I have really small children that ride back there at times and just feel better with the back on for now.

Cant wait to ride and see what the doorless fuss is about.

It's amazing, and I took mine off a couple of days ago. No mirrors takes a little getting used to though.

I too have small children so their doors stay on. When I bite the bullet on some trail doors I'll feel more comfortable removing them.

Yeah, the mirror thing was a little weird backing out of the garage. I dont think there are too harsh on enforcing it around here, but I may or may not look into them. I dunno. They would have to look decent.

Tennessee shouldn't have any issues with not having the doors/side mirrors so long as you can clearly see through the rearview mirror. The law as I know it is just that it must have one unobstructed mirror.

Kentucky on the other hand requires a left mirror along with at least one other mirror (aggravating!).

sittin' here literally thinking, should I take my doors off today. same boat though with the kids. I'll keep the rears on for sure. doorless is a lot of fun but I will say the first time or two, it was nerve racking for a bit!

Yea I think I might buy Jpegz for mirrors, but didn't want to yet if I was gonna buy trail doors. Check your local laws for what is illegal. I live in PA and an unobstructed rearview mirror is all we need, however doors off the Jeep is illegal unless it was manufactured without doors. Only like a '67 CJ actually fits that bill.

Either way, it really depends on the area you're in in PA, because cops seem to interpret it differently all over. Some say you're okay with trail doors, some not. Around me, the cops seem cool with it as if driven past several and never been pulled over for it. I asked a cop about it once when I got caught in a speed trap, and he said he wouldn't pull someone over for it, unless he wanted to use it for PC.

Do it..haha. weather is nice here for a good stretch from what I believe.
Indeed doorless was fun. Semi reminded me of my motorcycle days. I felt it looked fine with just the 2 front doors on, but I also didnt bother with taking the top off.

be very careful when re-installing the connections and make sure they are squared up with each other. The pins are sensitive to improper alignment.

Regarding mirrors, the JK has some winsheild hinge bolts that were popular for mounting mirrors to, they're gone now. I tried a few versions of hinge mounted mirrors, and they were all trash.

I wound up with these, and REALLY love them.

Jeep JL/JLU/JT Foot Pegs W/Mirrors JL JL Unlimited and JT KikBax Offroad | Kikbax Offroad
Id be careful with those, read of many people that loved them until their doors didnt go on anymore. Something about the foot pressure bending the hinge out of alignment. Thats why I went with the Carolina Metal Masters.

Love em so far, and you get some RAM ball mounts to go with it.

Im in the same boat as most of you though, kids keep the back doors on. Ive taken the back off a few times just for when I am riding alone to the golf course on a weekend and its awesome.

With regards to no mirrors, I only did that a few times, not a big deal, GA has the left mirror and one other mirror law as well but its rarely enforced. I will say, though, that doing 80 on the interstate was a little unnerving at first when changing lanes and no side mirror.
