So no damage to the diff from the computer thinking you were on stock gears? Reason I ask is I could swear I saw a post claiming their diffs blew in that exact scenario. Did you unmarry or simply remove?
My jeep was only moved from the service bay to the parking lot "not knowing" that it had 37" tires and 5.13 gears so there wasn't enough time driven to cause any harm.

Personally I unmarried my tazer because I had this paranoid feeling that the dealership techs would be able to tell that I use one based on something they could see in the JT's computer but it is my understanding that you can simply pull it out.

Dealerships easily have the ability to program tire size and gear ratio and I'm betting that if you tell the service advisor up-front that a shop installed your tires and gears and re-calibrated your JT they would plug in the right tire size and gear ratio after a software update.

Depends on what kind of mood they are in I suppose.

Yeah most likely but I have a tick. Dealership said "wow that sounds like an exhaust leak." Then proceeded to return the truck as "nothing wrong, you have a warranty, drive it until it blows." So I don't know how much I want to push my warranty luck.

I drove mine around for a few DAYS with no Tazer installed or married with 4.88s on my EcoDiesel and it never gave me any issues. Lighting was another story since I swapped in factory LEDs and am using a Quake LED chop kit.

@WITCH3R What part of TX are you in? I'm in Dripping Springs, near Austin. Might be able to save you some money on this job.

I wouldn't hesitate to put 5.13s in your Jeep with 35s. It will be a little rowdy down low, but it'll run like a sewing machine on the highway even at 80-85. We have a 2.0L JLUR on the rack right now getting 5.13s and he'll have 35s on it for a bit. I think THAT is going to be a little annoying, but the 3.6L LOVES deep gears.

I just had 5.13s installed with my 35s as I plan to get 37s next time. RPMs are a bit high on the highway going 75/80. Around 2500 I think but around town its a totally different animal now. Especially with a Pulsar on it. You can really feel it when it goes from 2nd to 1st. The torque just jerks the truck forward

On my JKUR, I run 4.56's with 35's and I think its just about right. It came from the factory with 3.73's but if it had had the 4.10's I probably would have left it that way.

Now, my JTR has the factory 4.10's and I'm running 37's with a fully loaded overlanding setup. I scaled it at about 100#'s over GVWR with all gear, food, water, etc. and I have no problems on the highway and with hills. I see 8th gear occasionally on flat sections, lol.

All that said, I personally think that 5.13's are too tall for 35's and maybe even for 37's.

Not that this info is definitive, this site recommends:https://4xstore.com/news-tech/what-...-jeep-wrangler-jk-jku-jl-jlu-or-gladiator-jt/

And while this is the chart for the Wrangler, I suspect it's not far off from what the JT would need:

Back to your request, I don't have experience on 35's with 5.13's but I think those gears would be too tall.
That chart is for the jk, not the JT different transmission, use the link to Grimm off-road instead.

See that's my concern because if you don't unmarry you risk losing whatever flash they did correct? And if you unmarry you risk damage? Anyone know what the deepest gear set a dealership can flash is?
Why would you risk damage? The truck drives fine with the speedo off. It's certainly not going to hurt anything.

If you want the gearing changes to stick after you unmarry the Tazer, you can change it with AlfaOBC or JScan.

Alfa OBD is ideal because the license for that software allows you to tweak multiple vehicles (I've been told, please correct me if I'm wrong).

Go on this forum and the JLWrangler forum and find someone local who is willing to meet you for the change. Offer him $50 for his time.

I'm speaking on the computer thinking I still have 4.10 when I unmarry. Tire size I don't care I just unmarry and drop it off. My question is if anything can be damaged in the diff if the computer thinks you're on 4.10 but the reality is you've regeared to 5.13?

there’s nothing in there to hurt, it’s just gears.I guess it’s a possibility to have a code or two, just from the speedo seeing a speed that doesn’t correlate with the wheel speed sensors… shouldn’t hurt a thing, rest in the fact that there’s nothing in your diff that’s computer controlled… you turn the pinion on the way in, it turns the ring and carrier, which turns the axles, thereby turning the wheels…. I see no issue other than perceived data being off

Absolutely not. Nothing can be damaged. You could drive around all the time with the speedo reading fast.

If they go above 5-10 mph the dash will light up because the abs and wheel speed sensors don't match with the expected rotational speeds, but you still won't hurt anything.

If you are worried unmarry the tazer, program tires and gears using jscan, then marry the tazer. Now the settings are saved to the computer and you can marry and unmarry to your heart's content.

Ok thanks for the info. Would an dealership update reset the change made by the j scan or does it make permanent changes?
