Life is good. Took my son up to the Valles Caldera in the Jemez Mts of NM on Thursday for some fly fishing. It's been dubbed the Yellowstone of the SW. I could've died right then and there and I would've felt my life was complete.

Fishing could've been better. A ridge of high pressure set itself up over the northern part of the state temps were a little high for up there. It was slow. Ran into and old duffer up there who fished it 2 days earlier and he caught a 20" 3lb brown. He caught over 20. When we talked to him on Thursday he hadn't caught anything.

Thanks for the encouragement...we weren't worried. First thing I taught him was a bad day fishing is better than not fishing at all. We were actually gonna go up there Tuesday but my granddaughter ended up in the hospital. Just a tale if 2 days.

Looks like beautiful country. Much better than being confined in an ICU in a hospital. And being able to enjoy the beautiful outdoors and your son is a bonus. Thanks for sharing.

I must be insane. I've gone fishing and keep doing the same thing our after hour hoping for different results. Isn't that the definition according to the internet?

If there's a life after I leave here I'm hoping it looks a bit like those pictures.

So true. It's taken me a long time to realize your "today" is their past. If you want their memories to be full of good feeling of their dad you have to spend every "today" making these memories for them. It's the only way we live on in their minds later.
