Anyone ever rig something up to make this possible? I know 4 doors would be unlikely because of the mirrors. but what about some contraption for the front two doors to hold them in place and prevent them from sliding? I live in an apartment and have to bring all of my doors upstairs when I want them off; it is quite inconvenient!

It's been discussed quite a few times, but due to the size, weight, and desire to leave them scratch and dent free, there's never been a good solution.

You'd have to lay them down or they'd stick up over the roofline. Then, since they're now stacked flat on top of each other, every turn you take and bump in the road risks damaging the doors. Not to mention, loading and unloading them into the bed would be a major PITA. Due to these facts, the consensus has always been not to do it.

I'll admit the Bronco did a great job in this regard. By keeping their doors with frameless windows, and keeping the mirrors off the doors, they managed a system where they can stay small enough to store in the back of the Bronco, upright padded and secured.

I have a ton of junk in my bed now, but I still quickly and easily put my two front doors in and can close my bed cover… doesn’t fit the back two doors though.
