I'm really liking the JCRoffroad best! I've been a big fan of theirs since my JKU Rubicon build. Like you, I've always preferred the black hardware vs stainless, but I'm forcing myself into a 12 step program to accept stainless since it's not chrome. The JCRoffroad winch plate came with the stainless hardware too....remember the old saying "chrome don't get you home" ?I went with JCR off-road. For me the main reason which may seem small, was the fact they have the bed light cutout. May seem minimal but it looks aesthetically pleasing and looks specific to the gladiator. Other brands without the bed light although may be as reputable brands etc, look a little tacky like something just thrown over the bed and not gladiator specific. That’s just me. Only complaint which isn’t major is I wish the hardware was black. But doesn’t look bad in any case.
Started with one side (shown in photo). However just ordered the other side and front bulkhead side yesterday.
Before finally deciding on JCR I was eyeballing Molle Platform Solutions panels. Smaller company. But good products nonetheless. They also accommodate the bed light issue I have. Only complaint on them and which swayed me toward JCR even though I wasn’t fond of the stainless hardware, was the fact the MPS side panels are half length horizontally and I wanted maximize the mounting space. I agree on keeping the bed lights open too. It looks like you have a tonneau cover on there as well. That is another reason that I want to keep it all in the bed vs a true overland rack. 5 years from now, I may go that route, but this is my DD currently and mostly used to go fishing locally for now so keeping everything under a tonneau cover is preferable.
Yup I agree. Same here. And yeah I got Diamondback HD cover. Love that thing. Most racks with the exception of a few won’t work with the DB anyways. But honestly a rack is overkill for me anyways. Keeping everything inside the bed is practical. Once my other panels come in, I’ll have rotopax and maxtrax boards mounted eventually. Along with a few other accessories.
That's exactly what I'm planning as well! My really old and trusty HiLift, plus a 3 gallon rotopax, a set of maxtrax boards, and maybe a shovel too. That DB is extremely nice but I may have to go with something a little less expensive. ?
Those are really nice too. Looks like you have the rail system that works well with it.
