I’m looking at buying some Rotopax for my bed rack. I was hoping to see some pictures and get some thoughts on quantities. Pictures to see how far it sticks out.

For water I am thinking 2 two gallons mounted together and for fuel a 3 gallon and a 2 gallon mounted together.

I’m curious if y’all over bought or under bought Rotopax. Thank you.

I've got Rotopax but not mounted in the way your requesting. I have them mounted to molle on the bulkhead under my bed cover.

No issues with mine. Rotopax have worked great.

Theres a thread about mods you regret.... While not a mod rotos are a regret of mine.

The other weekend i walked out and found my fuel rotopax leaking. The plastic cap split from the heat is my best guess. Not sure, I regularly vent them during temperature changes and it wasn't an overly warm day. Just walked out and smelt gasoline. I don't have a bed rack, they were mounted on molle panels under my tonneau cover.

The 2 gallons really hold less then that, maybe 1.8gal if you tip during fill. Then you have this awkward shape you're pouring from when you finally use it

At this point I can buy a new cap, maybe a metal one from AI13 but I think I'll be ditching them and replacing with wavian or similar. Just not worth the risk or a leaking can for a cool mounting location.

I hear you about potential spill problems. I’ve heard the spouts on the water Rotopax are better than the fuel ones. I understood not a fuel two gallons.
I have a harbor freight metal 5 gallon can similar to the Wavian and it’s pretty good. I bet the name brand is better. I just want to be able to mount them easier.
