They say no stupid questions yet I feel pretty stupid asking this. Anyhow

I have an old amp and low profile sub from my old project mr2 from back in the day that I was thinking about putting in my JT (willys sport non s) when its delivered.

Could I install it through the aux switches option I ticked?

Was just thinking it'd be nice to have it on a switch, so as to not have to always have it going. Sort of like a bass boost button.

Thoughts? Obviously I could just wire a switch onto the traditional way of installing an amp but thought this would be cleaner.

I'm no electrician or even play one on tv and still learning about the aux switches and jeeps in general (will be my first!)

Thanks

Yup, that would work. Just wire the main power cables to the battery/ground, and the remote wire to the Aux switch.

Off topic but here's my old MR2 just for fun... miss her but oddly the JT gives me the same feeling. Very excite!

Ive been cooking up a similar idea in my head. Just make sure you don’t exceed the amp draw for that switch.

If he wires it as recommended...

Yup, that would work. Just wire the main power cables to the battery/ground, and the remote wire to the Aux switch.
The draw won't be on the Auxiliary Switch.

Random thought, I have premium alpine audio and aux switches. I have a brand new in box Rockville powered subwoofer left over from an old budget commuter car build. I never sold it because I figured if I bought an extra beater again I’d just throw it in…

My thought process now is to wire the power to either the third or 4th aux switch (the sub only draws 15amps). It turns on automatically with a speaker signal so no remote wire is needed. I was thinking about throwing it under my drivers seat and turning it on when the top and or doors are off for a little extra bass.
Would this work?

Electrically, it sounds good.
Be prepared for some thumps when you apply power to the sub, especially if the radio is on.
