Good morning, newbie here... I tried to search but didn't find anything specific, but I have a 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport S. I have the 7 inch factory radio with regular speakers using uConnect 4. I have looked into swapping out with the 8.4 system using uConnect 4C or 4C Nav. But my real question is if I can get the OEM premium hardware (speakers, amp, subwoofer) would it be possible to install with minimal modification? My main concern is the amp and subwoofer box.

Sorry if this has been brought up before

Speakers yes. The amp and sub have different wiring and the sub needs a whole different back trim to fit. You can install the 8.4 uconnect without a problem I think. Worked fine for me

We actually haves gains in the Sport S, I am fairly sure we don’t lose anything. What are you worried about losing from Uconnect?

I know that with the Stinger radio you stop using the built in microphones for phone calls. I did ask the company that question and they confirmed it. I with Crutchfield, they have this in their detail notes for items that are not retained.
  • Cluster Display Features (including Compass, Clock, Phone pop-ups, and Navigation pop-ups) - I have the compass and clock on my dash cluster, but don't really notice anything else, so probably not a biggie.
  • Factory amplifier's speed controlled volume - I have this turned on, but not a biggie.
  • Uconnect features such as access to Remote Start/Lock/Unlock, SOS/Assist, Vehicle Location Service, and WiFi-Hotspot - I do have remote start/lock/unlock, but nothing else and not sure the remote start is actually part of uConnect as I can't use the phone or app to do it.
  • SiriusXM Guardian Services and SiriusXM Radio - I don't have, not a biggie.
I have looked at this radio along with the Alpine system and just trying to get the most bang for my buck as both are pretty price, especially with Alpine. With wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay in the new Stinger version is making it a better option...

I went from the 7 to 8.4 factory head unit with zero issues. It was used, I got the unlock code from the dealership. After 24 hours everything was detected and working properly, backup camera with lines and hitch zoom work fine. Plus now I have sirius xm, gps (turns pop up on my dash the way they are supposed to), HD radio, a way more responsive and larger screen, and it must put out more power because my speakers are louder with less distortion

Just a heads up you will never get access to the remote features or wifi Hotspot if it's not attached to your vin.
