I couldn't see spending the money. The Jeep is as far from an ideal listening environment as you can get so it is not where I'm going to listen to music. As long as I can hear the music well enough to sing along with while I'm wheeling along with the top off, I'll spend that $1000 somewhere else.

I am impressed with mine. It sounds better than I thought. Would definitely buy it again. The sound is clear with the freedom tops off.

I opted for the Alpine system and I am pleased with it. Does anyone know what the speaker sizes are in the JT with the Alpine system?

After finally getting my gladiator with the alpine package, it’s good.

but I still want to add a single 10” or 12” Sub under the rear seat for some extra bass. I have an alpine amp from my old car that accepts directly tapping into a speaker wire, which I could do on the factory sub. Only trick would be getting a box that will fit and run a power wire into the cab.

I had the premium alpine with subwoofer in my JK and I remember it sounding better. I’m also 5 yrs older and play drums in a metal band with tinnitus. I mean I have tinnitus, so maybe my hearing has become worse. It was already part of this JT, so I have it. Maybe it’s me though.

Pretty happy with the system. Does metal and house music well. Plenty loud. Sound quality depends a bit on source as always. Little bummed there is no CD player anymore....

I am in the same camp as you. Looking at trucks right now and I would rather put the 1k into the parking / blind spot sensors.

I had a monster audio system in one of my YJ's. At highway speeds with top and doors off you could not hear any road noise. My neighbors hated it.

Has anyone accessed or changed the Alpine Premium subwoofer behind the rear seat yet? If so, what size is the sub and any pictures would be appreciated. Hard to get to it? Any access info would be helpful.

I want to change all speakers eventually. I had a 15 JKU with premium audio and it kicked ass. This one is a bit disappointing.

I did not get the upgraded audio -- but I turned off the loudness feature on the stock stereo and it sounds a little better. I don't know if this an an option on the premium system.

I am going to try replacing the speakers with a set of $200 Kickers and no external amplification to see if that cleans up the audio a bit.

If that doesn't work I am going to go all in on a full amplified system with subs, similar to what is referenced here: http://www.carstereochick.com/2019/04/20/jeep-wrangler-jl-stereo-upgrade/
