Installed Infinity Reference 307’s in the dash

WAY better, not even close..
People don’t seem to understand that the “upgraded” Alpine 3.5” driver has the midrange AND the high frequency’s being sent to it. The 4” driver in the sound bar and knee speakers are only for the mid bass frequencies, and the subwoofer takes care of the low frequencies (well kinda).
Just because the 307 is a 2-way design does not mean anything, it is still designed for high frequency and midrange reproduction (and does it WAY better than the stock alpines) it actually can handle the mid bass too, but no need with the 4” mid bass driver installed upfront and in the sound bar. And actually since the alpine crossover filers out the mid bass and directs those frequencies to the 4” driver, the 307’s play that much clearer because they are not taxed with the mid bass frequencies..

Thank you for that info. It really answer my previous question better. I already have 307's in my dash and although it sounds 100 times better than stock, it is the only speakers I hear. If I put 307's in the sound bar and adjust the fade to even out the sound I should be able to get clear sound from the back also. That is my goal.

Definitely go for the 307’s in the sound bar as well. As you mentioned, I adjusted the fader after installing both sets of 307’s, and it actually sounds much more balanced now, and I have it almost in the middle position, just slightly favoring the the front speakers. But of course adjust to your own tastes..

How would these compare to the kicker and other solutions?

I have the upgraded alpine. It’s way too muddy. Deep bass is there but too much of it mixed in everywhere. Soundbar even seems to get overloaded easily and vibrate in the housing.

Sending the balance all the way to the back the sound bar seems weak and much less powerful than the front. I don’t know if that’s normal.

I want to try add some sound packing in the sound bar to help with vibration, but mainly I want some actual tweeters somewhere! Something like this infinity in the dash would be good, but I’ll pay more for better. I like the better sound stopping short of adding amps.

The sound bar I want 6x9 or 6.5. The Apline SPV 65 I’ve heard good things about but I don’t really want to cut things. There is just options overload.

I just got done changing out the soundbar speakers. These are Infinity Reference 607 CF component speakers. I used the JL/JT pods. The beauty of using the pods is that you don’t have to cut your sound bar. I had to cut holes in the pods for the tweeters but the soundbar is still factory fresh. Thanks to Crutchfield, the components plugged directly into the wires from the old speakers. I didn’t have to use the crossovers that came with the 607’s. Huge improvement in sound quality.

I just swapped out the little shits in the soundbar for 6 1/2 inch components. See the post below. Huge difference in sound and I got on sale at Crutchfield for less than a hundred

Just installed these today. Definitely sound much clearer and louder than the stock (non-alpine) dash speakers. Super easy to install, though I had to trim a part of one side of the bracket to get it to fit. Kinda annoying, but it worked and really pleased with the upgrade. The dash speakers definitely overpower all of the other speakers now so maybe the soundbar might get an upgrade if there are some deals down the road. I doubt I'll do the knee panel speakers, too much work to get to them.

Just did the knee panel upgrade. Infinity reference 607, 2 way 6-1/2” speakers in the Metra pods. It took 5 hours total for the work and my hands are chewed to hell. The pictures I posted are the significant steps. First, when installing the speakers in the pods, sound proof. Also be very cautious of the sheet metal clips. Make sure the screws are actually engaging with the backside. It took me many attempts to get all of them correct.

The second picture is an O2 sensor module attached to the drivers side pod. The Crutchfield master sheet didn’t mention this and the YouTube videos just kind of skim over it. The hole in the Metra pod are undersized. You’ll need to run one of the extra speaker screws in just to open them up.

The third picture shows that the plugs are different. There were no instructions about this. I cut off the plug from the old speaker and spliced in on the new speaker wire. The plugs you get from Metra won’t work.

I like my Alpine system, but I do agree that the dash speakers could use some help. I’d do this upgrade if I hadn’t read numerous accounts that they’re difficult to replace.

Yes.
Replacing the knee panel speakers will offer very little, if any, sound quality. The dash speakers will overpower them. Dash should be the first thing you replace and then go to sound bar if needed.
