Based on a few other threads, some people are pondering the difficulty level of installing and/or uninstalling a Mopar soft top with a bed cap in place.

Yesterday I gave it a whirl myself.

I think it is pretty safe to say that the rear window of the soft top is the primary area of concern. Thus that is what I "tested" by uninstalling, then reinstalling.

Note: I have the "Explorer Canopy" by Alu-Cab.

I was able to remove, then install, the rear window without moving the topper on my truck bed.

I'll admit, this is definitely one of those times it is nice the Alu-Cab canopy has a relatively large gap between the truck's back window & the canopy's front window.

See pics... sorry they are not very good pics. I will get better pics asap.

I was able to easily remove, then install, the rear window without even moving the topper from my truck bed.

I'll admit, this is definitely one of those times with it "paid off" that the Alu-Cab canopy is designed to have a relatively large gap between the truck's back window & the canopy's front window.

I’m assuming you were just able to get the bottom plastic in the lip and slide it to the other side? Thx for this it’s helpful. I’m picking up a contour soon.

No. I'm just over 6' tall with average length arms for my height.

I was able to install the soft top back window pretty much the same as without the Alu-Cab topper. However occasionally when it was a little chilly outside the middle part of lower window retainer thing did not want to slide in. In those instances I would grab a broom handle to reach the center part, simply because my elbow would not allow me to reach in far enough (between the topper & the Jeep cab).
