Whenever I take my 2023 gladiator out of park And into driveI I get an intermittent squeal. It sounds like it’s coming from the rear. I don’t ride the brake and im not accelerating . It does seem to quiet down after a bit. My jeep has been with the dealer under warranty for 4 days and I’m expecting they won’t be able to find the source . I saw a thread a while back with the exact issue and was seeing if any of it had gotten resolved and if not I hoping for some general insight from the jeep community! I posted a video of noise ! Thanks

mine does the same thing but only after sitting for a few hours. i get a couple of squeaks and it goes away.

i associate it to moisture saturation of the pads and since it goes away within 50-100ft of driving, i dont stress it.

Im almost at 36k miles now, its done it since i got with 5 miles.

I have a similar sound under similar conditions. Mine started after gong thru some deep muddy water. I had a lot of noise form the front. I had to replace my front pads and have the rotors turned. Looked like a rock or something got in there and damaged the pad and wore a slight ring into the rotor. I assume the rear brakes are making this noise but haven't taken apart to inspect since I still have good stopping power.

Took my rear brakes apart and cleaned the heck out of the clips and reinstalled. Fixed the noise for a while but it started to come back after a while.

Dang alright thanks ! I got a call from dealership and they can’t find anything. It happens eveytime I drive off but the techs are having a hard time recreating the squeal. Kinda figured. I’ve only got a few months until warranty is out but I guess it’s just an annoyance that I’ll have to deal with .

Weren't some of the wear shims getting out of position and rubbing on the rotors?

I swear I recall seeing this issue on this forum.

Oh interesting imma look into that !! I went back and found another forum on here . I believe it was from 2021. I saw someone mention the brake clips breaking and the pads were having difficulty separating, and some people were mentioning the electronic parking brake was possibly not disengaging? But I don’t believe I saw any resolution??

This is happening to mine too! Every day after work and while I’m offroad. Sounds like the rear driver wheel. When I hold the brake pedal it stops. I’ve been living with it for a while but would love to know a fix.
I still have a rattle over bumps too

Do a search for this post:
Low Speed Squeak while sharp turn

Not sure if it's the same issue as yours, but that's probably what I remember reading.

Dude!! thank you that’s pretty freaking helpful! , If I get the truck back from dealer after 5 days of them having it and I get the tire off and find that it’s a broken brake clip I’ll be annoyed.

my 21 JTR started to get that standard brake screech like when your brake pads are low, but it wasn't when braking, but all the time, was constant, the only time it stopped was when I braked, I pulled it apart to find the front piston in the calliper wasn't backing out when I took my foot off the brake, off to the dealer, they assessed and replaced the calliper, of course on my way home from collecting, I can still hear the scraping, back to the dealer a couple of days later, lets see what they come up with next, collapsed brake line or warped rotor maybe, we will see ... point is, it started off small , like yours, before it became so obvious I knew something more sinister was going on, good luck

Edited thanks to FLY-DOG 😁
