Is the tonneau cover waterproof?

My lease is up in a couple of months. Debating between a JT and a JLU. We got a family JLU a couple months ago which my kids have since taken over. Leaning towards a JT, the bed would come in handy. With a rollup or folding tonneau cover will that make the bed watertight? Wouldn't mine another JLU but the storage space is lacking. And I wouldn't want to put a cab on the JT.

In my experience the Mopar Rollup is about as watertight as can be, not 100% but 99.9, it’s better then my old bak revolver as far as weather tightness....the only small area I might get a drop through is right by the tailgate going through a high pressure water/wind car wash...but it’s negligible, all of my contents stay dry.

Thanks, that helps in the decision. Loading up the JLU to head to my parents to Christmas Eve. Family of 4, each with a sleepover bag and all the gifts, not too much room.

I have a Tyger tri-fold soft cover. I've had it through the automatic car wash many times. Not a drop inside the bed. Same result after a all night torrential downpour while camping last summer. Tools and recovery gear stayed dry.

My Mopar roll-up has also survived automatic car washes. However, the canvas near the tailgate that gets rolled back the most, has the greatest indent.

I have the trifold Bakflip. It’s 99% water tight. I had one on my previous rig too. I can’t live w/o it. For me it’s a must have in the PNW.

I have the Access 17019 Roll up tonneau cover and it works great (a few drops inside after a heavy down pour) and does not have the latch/locking issue that the Mopar roll up cover have.
