Personally, when it comes to recovery gear, I'd never go for the cheapest option. It'll cost a lot more for an off-road tow job than it would to shell out some extra money for a winch brand you know to be reliable. Smittybilt and Warn are the go-to options but Badlands makes a decent one as well. There will be Memorial Day sales happening soon too so it doesn't hurt to wait another 10 days and see what goes on sale.

I found a Badland Apex 12,000lb synthetic line winch on Offerup for $350.00 recently - it didn't work at first but that was because I goofed up the wiring - don't do what I did and you can find a bargain too!
