This is for IT Techy people that set up workstations and know how to.

I’m looking to add 4 additional monitors to a Lenovo IdeaPad. I need to be able to see 4 different data sets, on graphs, on demand and have a dedicated execution screen off to the side. I’m using cheapy Amazon 15” screens. 2 pack for $100. Not the fanciest but doesn’t need to be.

Information isn’t game level graphics or anything and updates at 1 minute up to 2 hours. Just need to be able to organize it in a way that I can flow through it within a few seconds and interpret.

Question is: What sort of hub or techy type gear will allow me to accomplish this?

Right now my laptop only allows 1 additional monitor. It works but boy is it a tango to flip between all the tabs on a single screen with the command screen off to the side. Just trying to make my life a little easier.

So something like what is pictured below should allow me to do what I need to do? This is probably pretty basic stuff but I’m technologically declined. If I can shoot it or drive it I’m good. That’s pretty much what I spent my career doing. Now I’m having to use tech.

Lenovo IdeaPad is a broad brush. Do you have the exact model number?
It may be under the battery if the battery is removable.
You are probably going to need something that can carry some of the external graphics processing load, unless that's a very well-built modern machine.

Probably not modern. It’s pretty basic and I purchased “open Box” from Best Buy.

I can get away with just 2 extra screens and already have those if 4 isn’t a reality. I’m not looking to go full HAM but if it’s a simple plug and play for 4 I’ll go that route. 2 will definitely do what I need it to though. Just want to spread the load of info if possible. I’ve only been able to find a 2 screen expandable thing so far.

I don’t know how graphics really work as far as computers but I’d imagine the load isnt super heavy for this.

I wasn't seeing many 4 monitor capable docking stations and I'm certainly no expert in this area, so I asked one of the smarter guys in our IT department.

He said this:

I would look for a quad-monitor dock that uses DisplayLink technology, rather than a standard USB-C dock.

I think that second one is exactly what hat I’m looking for. The Anazonians tell me my laptop is compatible with it too. Love it when they make it easy on me. Then I can just drag my knuckles up off the ground and hit the buy button.

In the past, with docking stations that couldn't handle more than 3 monitors, I also added a J5Create device. It is a USB-based device that you can plug your monitor into that will allow N-number of monitors additionally. It comes in various plug-types such as VGA, HDMI, DVI and I think Display Port now.
