Jeep Gladiator It's a Good Thing They're Not Puppies PXL_20230301_164649577~2

Winter, what little we had of it here in central VA, was way too short 🙁

I know I've seen people say that Rain X messes with the fluid reservoir sensor.
The cheap blue stuff won't clean a bug splatter a half a second after it hits.

So what else is effective and doesn't mess with sensors?

I have a favorite saying - "It's a good thing they're not puppies". Can you imagine? They'd outlaw driving.

I just ordered Prestone Bug Wash ($15/gallon) and a concentrate called Kristall Klar ($10/8.5 oz/12 gallons .

I'll test them out and post results.

What sensors are you talking about? The ones that automatically turn your windshield wipers on/off? I've never used it, so I'm really curious (not trolling). If so, that is interesting with rainX.

In Louisiana, where the bugs are thick, folks who know use the rain-x bug formula. Green bottle.

The local wally world changes the rain x formulas here in TN seasonally. The green stuff works good but we don't get it till warmer months.

Prestone Bug Wash. Best there is but can be hard to find. I also love the smell.

I used rainx when my JT was brand new and it clogged my nozzles. I put my finger in the tank and I could wipe off a film it left on the inside of my tank. I ended up having to pour a bottle of rubbing alcohol in there and ran that through and it cleared it right up. Before that I tried compressed air multiple times and distilled water and it still wouldn't clear it.

Love bug season here in Tampa is awful, but I found my solution: Clean the windshield really well with dawn soap/water. I give it a wipe down, then use a wet dryer sheet to scrub the window (believe it or not, a shit ton of bugs will come right off), then use a razor blade with soap/water to scrape the really stuck on bugs/gunk. One last wipe down with a clean cloth/blue paper towel, and make sure the windshield is spotless. Then I use Chemical Guys Hydroview cleaner/protectant that leaves a ceramic coating. Do that once a month, and the windshield stays pretty damn clean. Water rolls off, and I like to believe that the rocks/gravel do too. Oh, and I always use the blue cheap shit in the fluid reservoir.
