Let me start this thread out with some facts. I had a set of front and rear bumpers on my JK from JCR and a rear bumper on my Tacoma. Generally, they have quality state side manufactured steel.
To add to that, the Cab Height bed rack I also ordered from them was good, no issues.
That leads me to Mauler front bumper, their customer service, and my experience. I'll bullet point to keep it short.
* I made the mistake of not test fitting the bare bumper because silly me, I expected a bolt on item to fit. WRONG, the frame horn plate holes were off by more than 3.5 mm on either side. Ended up having to die grind the frame. When I contacted them about it, the attitude was like "Hey, we laser cut these bumpers so your frame must be "off"..." Yeah, Jeep has looser tolerances than your fab shop...
*roll eyes*
* The bolt on trail hoop doesn't actually work at all. The mounting bolts sit directly on top of the frame rails making it generally impossible to have the bumper sit low enough to align the studs with the frame horn plates. Awesome, already coated the bumper as one piece after priming everything separate. Had to sand down the coats aleady applied on top to remove the lines where the hoop plates were. Not a happy camper. Hoop is a worthless feature from them unless you weld it on yourself.
* Correct the coating after everything is checked, ready to mount it. Fits nicely without the hoop and the frame horn plates clearanced. All good!? NOPE, fog light pocket on the driver side accepts the factory fog perfectly, passenger side, 2mm off all the way around, bumper is already mounted and coated...
Fuck.
Grabbed the Dremel and a stone grinding bit and clearance that opening too. Finally get everything together.
Try to contact them about these issues again, leave my name/number for the sales guy I worked with to spend these dollars. He still hasn't called back.
I know that things aren't always perfect, but this particular piece of armor was a pile of crap. Test fit your armor from JCR before you send it off for powder or coat it yourself. This was really a pain in the ass and a let down, I have stood by them for a long time, not the quality and service I have seen in the past. I had a buddy who ordered the whole Enchilada rear bumper/swing/carrier combo, tried to install it, ran into all kinds of issues, ended up selling it, and moved to a different brand. I defended JCR, almost gaslighting him a little, now I see what he saw.
A bit disappointed, TBH.
