We have had nothing but issues with the UConnect 5 in our Grand Cherokee L. Currently waiting on an update that will fix some of them. Told a few weeks ago by the dealer that it is supposed to be out by the end of the year but that's getting close and nothing yet.

GCL forgets the keys tied to user profiles after a couple days. It never connects to the right drivers' phone. I have tons of issues with wireless android auto. It looked like such a neat feature but its been more of a pain in the butt! I hope they fix it before they put it in a Wrangler or Gladiator.

This is why I went ahead and ordered my 2022 Gladiator instead of waiting for UConnect 5. The issues made me decide it wasn't worth the wait!
Same boat on my wifes Grand Cherokee L Uconnect 5 right now is a turd.

Is Uconnect proprietary or is it Android?

Don't know what they sacrificed but that car so far has show to be a very well built car and while there are some cheapy parts inside, etc yep but so does my Jeep Gladiator have some cheapy plastic parts all over it. I am in no way trying to compare the two but again you like others try to justify that everything is ok because Jeep says so. That damned Nissan has lane change, rear parking, Collision avoidance, etc. All things that should come in a modern higher end vehicle without having to break the bank to get.
I justify my purchase based on my needs,

I am sure if you went to a Nissan forum there would be comments complaining this and that about Nissans. Justifying "everything is ok" should be part of ones' decision to purchase Jeep or whatever. Not based on anyone other then you and your needs and, what your wallet can handle. The funny thing is, if I was looking at a high dollar vehicle, I would probably say, I am not paying that much for Collision avoidance, rear parking, lane change etc. I can do those things myself for free. :)
