Maaco actually shoot paint pretty good. They just do zero prep.

I didn't realize Maaco was more than just a local shop where I grew up in FL. I was surprised someone know who they were.

A blind man on a galloping horse won't notice it. But everyone else will. When it comes to paint. You have to look it over real good before accepting it.

Just make sure they replaced the panels and not just sanded and painted. Replacing the panels is the correct way to do it. Two of our JLs were repaired incorrectly and are now being done the right way (at a diff dealer that actually has a bodyshop).

I guy a grew up with had a 2 door Olds 88 with a 455 in it. He did all the prep work on it. He then took it to Maaco for them to spray it. Ike wanted it baby blue. What he got was matte blue. That paint never did have a shine to it. Even after wet sanding.

Lol I used Maaco for years on my dealership lower end cars they did way better then that!!

After two weeks, I got a nightmare of a Jeep back from the dealer. Wondering if they've ruined the hood and tailgate and they "weren't able to see" any corrosion on the door hinges. It also shows the hood isn't closed and the service manager told me they didn't see any codes for the ABS / Wheel Speed sensor even though below is what the dash looked like when I got the Jeep back. The color match is horrible. It's like a mustard brown instead of Gator Green and it has all kinds of divots and debris in the paint. The hood looks almost like they put it on too thick and it ran. Also, when I opened the hood, the hood prop came crashing down because they broke the clip that holds it up.

They could've cleaned some of that up with a sand and polish but some of that is in the base coat coming from a painter that owned a body shop!! Take it back unacceptable

If done at the Maaco shop I’ve used many times in the past driving old cars, it would look like new! I had the last color changed car for over 20 years that was still amazing looking.
