Jeep gladiator delays

I ordered my Jeep gladiator on June 22 and gladiator builds are now on hold from Aug 2-8, Someone told me if I was issued a VIN # my Jeep wouldn't be included in the chip shortage issue....that if I was issued a VIN number my chip was preassigned when that VIN was issued. Does anyone know if this is true?

This is what I've heard as well. Anyone with a VIN will resume production on Monday (the 9th)

That’s reassuring to hear if that is the case. I ordered on 7/26 and got my VIN the next day on 7/27, no news yet other than still in D status.

Same here, I ordered a day after you. Fingers crossed we get 2 new Gladiators headed to Wisconsin soon!

My question is where are you getting your information? I ordered on July 20th and was issued a VIN two days later. I spoke to Jeep Chat yesterday and they told me that the plant is shutdown for this week and that this delay is only impacting vehicles that are currently in the build process. I am still in “D” status and was also told that the “process” to gather parts is still continuing this week. Jeep Chat also told me that the 8-10 week from order to delivery still holds for me and my Mojave order
So, with this information being said and from what others have shared, it’s either Jeep Chat is full of it, or there are certain models/trims/packages that impact delivery times, or special treatment to certain dealers, or all of the above or none of the above. What I am trying to say is that none of us know. LOL

Sounds like they confirmed what I stated above. Production is shut down this week and if you have a Vin, will resume next Monday. So the 8-10 still holds for you because you already got a Vin. Basically, anything with a Vin had a chip allotted already.

I'd have to agree, I would think if you got a vin that the chip is already assigned to you.

I got my information from a Facebook group and a poster who claims he works at the plant that produces the Jeep wranglers. I wasn't sure it sounded accurate. That being said, we've been told that they were in the process of gathering parts since we ordered. Our status has never changed. We got an email that said that our gladiator would not be ready until October 16th even though we ordered on June 22nd. I sure hope that email was wrong.

Ordered Mojave soft top on July 5th, just heard back from dealership yesterday Aug 4, that it has been shipped and passed inspection and now ready for pick up! So it took about a month wait from ordering to get it to a dealer’s lot. Excited to get my first Jeep soon ?

Just as a data point that may be relevant to you, I ordered a Sport S with max tow from Rob at Tuttle Click on 7/19 and Rob sent me the VIN via email on 7/26. I don't know if my order will be delayed.
