Bet a cold beer it is Union shenanigans leading up to the strike.
Having toured the factories over the years, and having a father who was a UAW member, and having seen what I've seen - I'll pass on that bet. You are too likely to win that one.

Probably an error at the part supplier. Completely common. My grandpa used to own a GM dealership and he’d get Chevy trucks with GMC grills and other parts (and vise-versa) frequently.

I've heard of someone on assembly lines tossing a nut or bolt in body panel or tied inside fender with a wire or string. Could have been a B.S. stories.

It’s actually getting a lot of attention locally lol. The dealer offered to order a seat..(which ever one he liked more) and fix it but a lot of people told him to leave it alone.

A few of the mustang clubs around here are calling it a unicorn lol. Still a badass car.

My 04 Terminator with 1640 miles is a unicorn… not a 24 with mismatched seats lol.

More than likely the supplier put the wrong bar code sticker on one of the seats.
With the way the system is set up, no one checks the product any more, just the bar code.
If it matches it goes in.

I an salary non-union but work in a aviation manufacturing facility that all touch hourly labor is Union represented by the UAW also. Been through three contract negotiation cycles with them and it amazes me the amount of what I call "Fu*k, Fu*k Games" they start to play about a month out before their existing contract is set to expire. They do not sabotage or mess with the physical aircraft being built as that will land their asses in Federal Prison pretty quick, but anywhere they can misroute or lose things before it gets on the aircraft to delay schedule, they will do it. Test equipment seems to get broken pretty regularly around the same time or if there is some linchpin Union employees for a particular job, both that employee and the designated backup call in sick.

I can rattle off about 20 more examples but it is funny to watch the shit talking on both side around contract time.
