Ok...this is a mock up. I’m trying to store my Jerry cans. If this is completely stupid, I apologize in advance. My plan is to have a 2x4 border on the plywood. Then two 2x4s standing between each can. 2 ratchet straps holding everything down. All up against the front of the bed.

I haven’t used this type of can, but it needs to lay down like this to get under the hard tonneau cover.

Thoughts? Will they leak if positioned like this?

"IF" the seals on the caps are good quality and in good shape they should stay sealed.

Your next problem is finding a funnel that will fit in the "safety" latch assembly and allowing you the proper angle so your JT doesn't wear the fuel in the cans.

Are those proper "wavian" cans? If so, you should have no problem hauling them in that position with zero leakage (assuming no dry rotted seals).

Additionally, there is zero problem finding a "funnel" as the Wavian spout is a secure fit that is fast pouring and drip free.

Wavian makes the best fuel cans on the market. Far better than plastic NATO Sceptre cans.

There are commercially available mounts that will strap them to a base. Frontrunner makes a nice one.

They are the Wavian cans afaik. Seals are good. I wanted to keep cost at zero, as all my wood is sourced from prior projects in the garage.

New winch, recovery gear, wheels and tires coming next week will eat budget for a while.

It's not a bad idea. 80L is a lot of fuel but Im sure you have a reason.

80L, plus can, plus all the wood leads to a lot of weight. Just a thought to think.
