JT overland edition on stock 3.73 gears will 35s work?

It will work, but it’s not ideal.

8th gear gets more rare. Acceleration is still ok.

Kindly out of my experience in some ways: "3:73" gears in a JT. Hills, windy weather or with anything else in JT. So I would probably not be happy about 3:73s and anything taller than stock. That's knowing how much crap I have in mine, where I drive areas has "hills" and tow with mine (not your situation/ problem). I've got 4:10 running fairly aggressive AT 33s and wouldn't want to be running above 35s as mine is. My next tires could be 35s down the road some time. ? Then I will probably not be happy with 4:10s
My LJ has 3:73 gears and 4.0 with the heavy MT's it wouldn't be bad if it didn't have H.T. Tuffy security drawer, heavy bumpers ect, on hwy / I-state. But damn I've probably not had above 30 psi air pressure in them if not running at 20-25.
So weight of tires and rims can also be part of the equation to think about too.

Running 35's on stock gears (automatic) with no issues in the Black Hills.

The Overcon has been on 35’s for 2+ years, and do some light towing, no problems & no plans to re-gear.
