Over at the JL forum, I have read about steering box issues that have not yet affected us JT owners.

Are JL and JT steering boxes the same in terms of quality and overall specifications? Why are there 'dead zones' in steering with the JL's when I can't detect this in my JTs steering? Is this something to worry about as I haven't lifted my JT yet?

The JT(at least mine) does not have the same dead spot as the JL's we own. I looked at the part numbers on the box, and I believe the Gladiator has a revision AE, where as our JL's have AC(2018 4dr) & AD (2019 dr).

Do you foresee JL owners swapping in the JT steering box, rather than going PSC? It's good to hear that the steering box has seen a revision, at least.

I'm sure the 2020 JL's will have the same revision. I'm hoping they recall the earlier boxes as I love the JT steering feel even with a lift. Our 2019 2dr felt great off the lot, but has slowly developed the same play as our 2018 4dr did off the showroom floor.

After driving my modified 2003 TJ Rubicon daily since new, I really love the JT Rubicons onroad steering. I hope the steering continues to feel as it does, but of it took a turn for the worse (no pun intended), I wouldn't hesitate to upgrade to PSC.
