Got the tray for my bed pull out cut and put together today. Brazing was a no go with a Map torch. Not hot enough. Maybe different flux? May two torches/two people ? I don’t have an oxyacetylene torch and obviously don’t have a TIG welder. Hoping the plywood will be sturdy enough with the bolted together tray. If not it will be back to the drawing board. Coming soon to YouTube after I get wood and a nutsert tool to get it all attached to the truck. #JTRSPARTACUS

I’ve had some family issues, got a new job and I have a kid looking at colleges. Busy busy busy. Got the pull out drawer slides mounted in the Gladiator. Next I need to attach the tray and plywood deck. Started raining and Jeep doesn’t fit in the garage. Used nutserts into the bed side and floor. The 3/4” plywood is a spacer for clearance. The Rough Country Nutsert /Rivnut tool worked ok. Need this slide for my upcoming Yellowstone trip. Stay tuned. Just need to drill about 14 holes and bolt stuff together.

More progress. In the home stretch. Taking a lot more time than I planned due to clearance issues and ever changing hardware. Some kinks to iron out before attaching the wood with carriage bolts and putting outdoor carpet in the wood.

Done. Total cost about $500. Took me 3 weekends to do. If I had to do it again. I could probably do it in 1 weekend. Lots of trips to the hardware store to change out hardware due to clearance issues. Really need this for my road trip to Yellowstone.

parts list from another thread. Quoting it here.

I got aluminum from Fastmetals and also had a coupon. It was about $300 delivered
Two (2)- 3/8" X 4" FLATx 4’ (cross braces)
One (1) - 3" X 3" X 3/8" ANGLE x 4’ ( front of tray - at the cab)
Two (2) - 3" X 3" X 3/8" x 5’ (sides of the tray)
Two (2) - 4" X 4" X 3/8" ANGLE x 2’ (brackets to support the slides past the wheel well)
I cut the aluminum with my compound miter saw and hood wood blade.
I got a Rough Country rivnut kit from Amazon. I had a gift card but it costs $50
The deck is 3/4” plywood sheathing from Lowes. It was $35
the carpet is from Lowes. Can’t remember how much but I remember it being pretty cheap.
I used misc bolts and screws. After a lot of trial and error I found that 1/4” x 1” machine screws would work with countersunk heads in some of the tight spots in the side with the lock/latch. The rest have 1/4” x 1” grade 5 bolts and nuts.
The tray connection to the slides has 24 bolts/screws. 12 on each side. The slides are attached to the truck with 1/4” machine screws and rivnuts it in the wheel wells I went through and Put a nut on them. The deck is held down with 6 - 3/8” x 2” carriage bolts and nuts.
I’ll try to pull a video together on my YouTube but I’m too busy right now getting ready to go to Yellowstone in 12 days!!!

This will be a mix of road-trip, light offroading, camping and bucket list adventure. Camping near Mt Rushmore, camping in Custer Gallatin NF, 3 nights in Yellowstone, Fly Fishing in Montana and Dune Buggies in Idaho. Some stats - 2 baseball parks, 14 states, over 4,400 miles.

Got upgraded Centerforce clutch hydraulics. Gotta check em out and post and then get installed. No real issue with stock hydraulics but maybe I don’t realize they suck? Not sure.
