Question, sorry if it’s been asked but I’m new to doing this for my truck. I currently have 255/75R/17 on my stock tires. I want to jump to 33s would I be able to just order 285/75R/17 and it would be the same or does the size have to be a little different? Please and thank you!

Are you asking if they are okay to add your stock wheels? If so, yes. Then you could buy a device to recalibrate your speedometer.

On my JTR, I went from 285/70r17 (33") to 35x12.5r17 (35") and even though I have high fenders, the tires rub at full turn with minimal flexing. On my previous Willys, I had 33" with no rubbing. 34" might be pushing it without a leveling kit and low line fenders.

285/75/R17s will fit on a willys. That's the biggest you can go without a lift if you don't want rubbing.

Like others have said, that's actually a 34" tire. If you go with a 285/70R17 that would be a 33".

Ok unless you’re going off roading more than half the time, going up from a stock 255/75-17 @ 32.1, to a wider, taller and heavier 285/75-17 @ 33.8, that will give you 1.7” overall hight, with ? .85” extra ground clearance, with an extra 1.25” width, but an undeterminable amount of extra weight without weight them both. Weight off road and on is the enemy that robs power. If you’re driving at least 50% highway every day stay with the stock sized tire. If you want taller, go narrower to offset the extra weight.
