You hit the nail on the head right there. I'm not sure why, but straight bolt on stuff is kind of a let down. I guess I miss the FAFO of it. I don't have the fabrication equipment (or skills) to do custom builds but my favorite childhood memory was putting the built '74 307 and posi rear end in my '85 ElCamino. That thing RANIt's so simple in fact it's better to just go that route than crawl around junkyards rigging things to work...unless of course that's just what you get off on doing. I dig that too.
