Does anyone think that the 2025 models are upgrades from previous years?

I have a 2021 Overland, and other than a low speed noise under my carriage, I don't have any issues with it. I guess I could hope for better mileage since I only get about 16mpg. But other than that, I have loved my JTO since I bought it in December of 2020. If yeah, it's my daily driver and it just rolled over 50k miles.

I had been waiting for the new year models to come out because we kept getting promises of new powertrain options. I heard both the 4xe (from Stella's - liars again), and the Hurricane Inline 6. Come to find out, neither is an option. Now I don't know if I should trade in just to get the same old half-ass powered 3.6.

Anyone else asking these questions?

Best person to answer that is you. Take a trip down to the dealer and check out the new model for yourself to determine whether it's an upgrade and worth swapping over to despite the same ol' 3.6L under the hood or not. If the engine is a big hang up for you, wait to see if Jeep comes through with a 4xe option like they talked about... I definitely wouldn't hold my breath about seeing the Hurricane in the JT though.

It's the same truck. Not worth upgrading unless you have the money to throw around
Bingo, even with them on fire sale, the interest rates make it a wash. Enjoy being payment free, well assuming its paid off

Unless they cut prices and put a better engine on the JT, I see it dying in about 2-3 years.

Yup, I took a different route and asked two prominent high performance engine rebuild shops if I could just get my 3.6 rebuilt with better components, boring, honing, balancing. I told them I didn’t need stupid crazy, just better. That was always something we teenagers did back in the 80’s and what classic car owners do. Easy, right?!

Well, I got rained on by both shops and was told the ā€œpenastar 3.6 is an engineered nightmareā€ and they both said NO. They both said it’s not like they can’t, it’ll just remain a better built nightmare. It’s better to either just replace it with a new one or maintain it and hope it lasts. Price tag to rebuild one, if that’s a cheaper option is about 6-7k cad.

I've owned my 2020 since July 2019 and am still very much in love with it. I'm thinking about a 2024 only because that's the last year for a manual transmission.
