Wow. That's interesting. I'm currently using the non mag Quadlock wireless charger, charging at 7.5w and it's barely enough to keeps up, but not loosing battery though. Just ordered their mag charger, will update with results.
I use to usb-c and it charges hella fast. Even when using CarPlay. I have no need to look at my phone and the display is plenty for my need and I think it’s annoying having your phone in your face while driving. Besides the windshield is small enough and having that extra phone in the way is a bother to me lol

99% of the time it’s locked. When something’s not working on the trail offline, it’s my ticket out of there. CarPlay has been having issues while locked lately where gps won’t update while locked. Having it right there for that 1% it’s less distracting.

Love the Alucab contour canopy. Allows me to keep my fridge on board full time, go into town for dinners/lunch on trips without worrying about my gear. It's just makes life so much easier having everything ready to go when I want to. And not have to unload after long trips right away.

I bought for 37” tires, 5.13 gears, and to enable an aftermarket front camera. Not sure it’s worth it - you be the judge but Tazer turns off the seatbelt reminder, allows use of navigation while moving, has memory to keep A.S.S. (Auto start/stop) turned off, remembers traction control position, led lights show (mostly silly), turn assist like Bronco has to lock the inside wheel, blacks out the license plate light when backing up to reduce glare (one of my favorite) , 0-60 timer, line lock for burnouts, winch setting for increased rpm when winching, ability to add a front locker, and I’m sure some other stuff I forgot.
Thanks. I turned off the seatbelt reminder a different way (free) and don’t need the other things if does though. Just curious

Honestly I would say getting a soft top and sunshade has been the biggest quality of life upgrade for mine. Hard to beat cruising in the sun and fresh air.

- Some way to organize things in the bed. When I go grocery shopping, its a jumbled mess back there by the time I get home
Keep a couple empty totes in the garage and throw them in the tailgate when you go grocery shopping or know I’ll be picking up loose items at the hardware store etc. Also makes it one or two trips in the house from the garage rather than carrying bags, milk etc. Life changing!! Lol

Wireless carplay dongle + USB-A to USB-C adapter, plus USB-C to USB-c 6” cable so that I could tuck the whole thing into the center console and have CarPlay work seamlessly and effortlessly was a LIFE CHANGER for me. It took me too long to learn this hack, and I am still upset at Stellanits for making me jump through this hoop…. But this is the only way that I could get the center console USB to work for me.

I also added a dead pedal, but after nearly a decade in a wrangler/gladiator, I forget that it is even there lol.

I did add Acenter console organizer tray so that I could use more of the console without disturbinag the USB shenanigans previously mentioned, but that is a 50/50 quality of life upgrade.

but for the hardtop guys out there, bestop Sunrider is 1,000,000% a QOL upgrade. 8 years of a soft top wrangler, and wanting the soft top on the gladiator so badly, I wound up with a hard top color matched gladiator, and bought the sun rider top. This combo is WAY better than the soft top and this is the hill I will die on.

Can you elaborate on this in more detail? Which dongle are you using? Would it not work with the normal USB-A connection? Pics?

In my gladiator, carplay wouldn’t work using the center console USB connector and a wired connection to the phone. Well, it would work, for a few minutes, and then it would freeze up, become unresponsive, and it was effing annoying…. The USB connection on the dash worked fine, but I hated having visible wires and my phone out in the open.

Apple says that it is a problem with Uconnect, Stellantis says that it is a problem with Apple, it’s a back and forth game of pointing fingers and no one admitting that their hardware is to blame (Spoiler alert, its stellantis).

For whatever reason, using a USB-A to USB-C adapter, USB-C to USB-C cable, and wireless CarPlay adapter (I am using this one Limited-time deal: 2023 Carlinkit 3.0 Wireless CarPlay Dongle Adapter U2W (Type C Design) for Factory Wired CarPlay Cars, Wireless CarPlay Adapter for iOS Version, Fit for Car from 2022 https://a.co/d/b59Mi1zLimited-time deal: 2023 Carlinkit 3.0 Wireless CarPlay Dongle Adapter U2W (Type C Design) for Factory Wired CarPlay Cars, Wireless CarPlay Adapter for iOS Version, Fit for Car from 2022 https://a.co/d/b59Mi1z) is nearly flawless. Wireless CarPlay works, my phone stays in my pocket, cables are hidden in the console. I get in the truck, my phone connects, and I don’t have to think about anything.

@Hoss - Thanks for the detailed explanation, very helpful! That's a good price for a wireless carplay adapter too.

I have the same set-up more or less with one exception - I've noticed that when connected that way, on drives over 1.5 hours or so, something causes it to freeze up. I'm convinced it's a heat related issue with the CarPlay adapter dongle since it's hidden behind the dash now. I added an in-line USB on/off switch that allows me to re-start the dongle without re-starting the car. It doesn't get used often, but it's nice to have for those times when I'm on a road-trip and it craps out and I don't feel like pulling over to restart it.

This is brilliant. Mine is in my center console so I can have access to unplug it easily.
Mine has a similar issue in the summer months only and I have been convinced that it was heat related.

Center console tray. Makes it easier to use and not be such a mess.
This was one of the first things i Purchased as well and I’m not kidding when I say I love it! Ha ha! Super inexpensive and super easy install of course (duh) but with my mild ocd I can’t be organized enough! :involve:

Here is a link with a pretty good price: 4,300 EUR ea.

You can get the same seat in the US without the side airbag for about ~$700 less, each. I didn't want to fool around with safety. I figure $700 is cheap insurance to reduce risk.

The seats do not work with the factory rails. I used Wedge brackets and had them customize the brackets by lowering the front by 1" and the rear by 1.5"
Absolutely brilliant, thank you for sharing.?
